Have a patient with tinea pedis (athlete’s foot)? Are you or the patient concerned about it spreading elsewhere? Well, you should be as it can be spread easily, but here is a tip:
To decrease the chances of the fungal infection spreading, have the patient put the anti-fungal medicine onto their feet and then put their socks on BEFORE they put their underwear on. If you do this, it will prevent their toes and feet from touching their underwear and spreading the fungal infection up their legs and into their groin area requiring further treatment.
