“You can get past the dead end. You can break through the ceiling. I did and so have countless others.”

Clinical Pearl Wednesday #3

Have a male patient suffering from depression, anxiety, and/or fatigue? Skip the SSRI and check their total and free testosterone levels first. Low testosterone will make a man feel awful with symptoms of depression, fatigue, insomnia, low motivation, low libido, and anxiety. Antidepressants simply mask the symptoms where testosterone replacement therapy treats the underlying issue! Try it next time you have a male complaining of depression and anxiety, you might be surprised.

    1. I have seen it in males as young as 21…. It is a silent epidemic among men in the western world. Average though? 35-50. Don’t assume anything over a total testosterone level of 300 is normal either like the guidelines suggest. The ranges are not age adjusted. I will be releasing an e-book/guide soon about opening a Men’s Health/Testosterone replacement clinic.
