Have a patient who is taking metformin?

Metformin can cause serum Vitamin B12 deficiencies and could potentially lead to anemia.

If you put a patient on metformin or have one that has been on it long term, ensure they are supplementing with vitamin B12!

Simple supplementation could potentially prevent an issue down the road.

I have seen this in my men’s health practice a handful of times. The individuals fatigue was stemming from metformin induced vitamin B12 deficiency! A simple fix!
