Have you ever been auscultating heart sounds in a patient and heard a murmur? There are numerous different types of murmurs and it is often hard for the non-cardiac trained provider to identify where it could be coming from. Here is a nifty pearl:

If the murmur gets louder with inspiration, then it is a right sided murmur, but be aware, that not all right sided murmurs increase with inspiration.

You should still refer the patient out or order an echo, but this could help guide you to the right diagnosis.
